Everybody enjoys catching up on entertainment and activities created with you in mind. While man-made things have their own appeal, there is something really special about natural wonders.

What could be better than wonders that make you stop and stare? Letting you get lost in the breathtaking scenery. Here are some beauties found around the globe.

Of course, we have to start with the top 7 natural world wonders which have reached the list of most beautiful sights for a reason.

The Amazon River

First, there's the Amazon River, which is breathtaking. This body of water is considered one of the longest rivers in South America, covering over 4,000 miles. It also has the largest drainage system on the planet, discarding around 7,4000,000 cubic feet every second.

And let's not forget about the beautiful Rainforest that surrounds the river. The forest stretches across 40% of Brazil's land mass. In the forest, plenty of unique species have never been caught on camera. It would be wonderful to walk in the forest and stumble across a species you've never seen before.

Jeju Island

Jeju Island is a sight to behold. This volcanic island is a province of South Korea sitting between South Korea and Japan. The island is home to the Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes. Not to mention Mount Hallasan, which is one of the highest mountains in South Korea.

If you're planning a trip abroad, you might want to add Jeju Island to your travel plans. The beach, the mountains and the countless other sights make it an ideal space for exploration and vacation.

Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, is a popular tourist destination because of its limestone karsts and floating fishing villages. The landscape is created by up to 2,000 islands and islets, most of them uninhabited.

Leaving them untouched by man and creating a beautiful sight. The unusuality of the landforms makes it so popular. It's considered a World Heritage site since 1994.

Iguazu Falls

You can't skip out on seeing the Iguazu Falls, which straddles the Iguazu River right on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Its name, translated into English, means Big Water, which works because it is made up of 275 waterfalls, which makes it the largest waterfall system in the world.

During your visit, pay special attention to the Devil's Throat, the tallest waterfall. It's long and narrow with a U-shaped gap. Visitors here have said that they'll never forget the thunderous sounds coming from here.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River

Another river to add to your list is the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, which is located on the Philippine Island of Palawan. It leads towards a cave which can be travelled through via boats.

In 2010, some environmentalists discovered a second floor with small waterfalls inside the cave.

Komodo Island

Komodo Island is one of the world's most Indonesian wonders. It's home to the Komodo dragons and has made history with over 2,000 inhabitants. Compare this to the over 5,700 remaining Komodo dragons, and you see that nature takes over here.

The belief is that the Komodo Dragons are descendants of former convicts exiled to the island in the 19th century. Don't miss the chance to visit Pink Sand Beach, where you can enjoy activities like snorkelling and diving.

Table Mountain

Cape Town, South Africa, is one of the most beautiful cities that captures the heart instantly. The mix of nature and city makes it the ideal spot for a balance of activities. One thing that instantly makes Cape Town stand out is Table Mountain.

As the name suggests, the mountain got its name from its top, looking like a table. You can see the mountain from anywhere in Cape Town. You can reach the top by going for a hike or making use of the cableway. The flat top makes it perfect for cloud-watching or a romantic break.

It's also a biodiversity "hot spot" and is seen as a botanical anomaly due to the sheer number of plants and wildlife that can be found in the area. Its unique shape makes it perfect for capturing and storing rainfall which is collected and supplied to the city below.

The Great Barrier Reef

You want to take advantage of a trip to Australia, where you can closely examine the massive barrier reef. This one is a must sooner rather than later, considering that it is highly at risk of being destroyed by the changing climate, tourism and overfishing. It has become important for humans to change their way of interacting with it in order to preserve it.

The Grand Canyon

We've seen it in movies and heard about it in random dialogues, but we've never seen it up close. The Grand Canyon is a massive canyon cut by the Colorado River running through Arizona. It's about 227 miles long and 18 miles wide.

While it isn't the longest or steepest canyon, it's definitely one of the most beautiful if you look at its natural design and the colours that surround it. It's a canyon carved into a masterpiece by the Colorado River that flows through it.

Aurora Borealis

Norway is one of the places that must be on your top 10 list of places to visit. The Aurora, referred to as the northern lights or the aurora australis in the south, is caused by solar winds colliding with Earth's magnetosphere. It lights up the sky with beautiful, unusual colours that can be seen from anywhere in the region.

The World is Beautiful

There are so many beautiful places worldwide that you wonder why you've been sitting in one place while the world offers so many sights that will take your breath away. Remember to explore your home town and the surrounding cities too. You never know what is hiding in your backyard.

If there's one thing you should do before you can no longer, it is to view these sights and all the others you can find in person. The views and discoveries will be life-changing and might even propel you in a different direction. Go and be an explorer of the beauty the world has to offer.
