BGaming enters Sweden with official licence

BGaming gains Spelinspektionen approval to supply its games, including Merge Up and Aztec Clusters, via licensed Swedish casinos, marking a key European expansion.

BGaming has secured a B2B license from the Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen. This licence allows games from BGaming to be supplied to regulated Swedish casinos from August 2025.

The move is truly a milestone in the company’s ongoing European growth strategy. This allows them to enter and operate in one of the tightly regulated online gambling markets in the world.

Antonina Ivanova, Head of Legal & Compliance at BGaming, said:

“Securing approval to enter Sweden marks a significant milestone for us in one of Europe’s most competitive markets. Our team is always working to ensure full compliance with the highest regulatory standards, and being granted entry into one of the industry’s toughest markets is a testament to this.

We look forward to partnering with leading operators in Sweden and introducing our distinctive gaming experiences to local players for the first time.”

Sweden’s online gambling market is famous for its strict rules about gambling, even more so about the ones regarding keeping players safe and ensuring that everything is above board. So, BGaming getting the green light by Spelinspektionen to operate in such a market is a big deal.

Who is BGaming?

BGaming was founded in 2018 and took little time to establish itself as a popular presence. It holds a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority and many certifications from different regulated markets (e.g., Peru, Brazil, Italy).

The company's 200+ titles are now available in more than 2,000 casinos. BGaming’s portfolio includes online slots, table games, crash titles, lotteries and scratch cards. All games are designed to work with both fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies.

BGaming is dedicated to ensuring responsible gambling and fair play has positioned it as a trusted game provider. Plus, this growth speaks of its commitment to broaden its international reach.

Some of the popular BGaming titles include Merge Up and Aztec Clusters, both of which have gained traction across European casinos. These games, along with upcoming games, are now set to reach Swedish players for the first time.

Sweden’s market challenges and opportunities

Sweden offers one of the most regulated online casinos worldwide. The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) has urged regulators to make the approval processes smoother for newer formats, such as crash games and video bingo. Delays in certification risk are pushing players to unlicensed operators.

When looking at market data, we can say that the concern is real. The percentage of gambling activity occurring within licensed platforms fell between 69% and 82% in late 2024, which is below the 90% target set by regulators.

Despite these issues, Swedish gambling participation remains strong, with around 71% of adults playing weekly. Lotteries remain the most popular format, carrying 84% of players.

Player comments and engagement trends

The reaction to BGaming’s entry has been mixed, but it highlights the company’s growing impact. There is some positive feedback on BGaming’s customisable titles for operators, with one player saying on social media: “They collaborate with operators to create exclusive titles that match the casino’s brand.”

Some players remain cautious, questioning aspects of gameplay transparency, with one saying: “BGaming is a bad provider. It might be okay to play one of their games for a short time.”

In order to strengthen player trust, BGaming has rolled out its Players Hub. This Hub is a real-time analytics platform that tracks live RTP, top wins and trending titles.

During the testing phase, the platform managed to bring in over 5,000 player registrations, and that's without any marketing efforts whatsoever. This mirrors the broader gambling industry trends.

The road ahead for BGaming in Sweden

BGaming’s licence in Sweden is more than just regulatory approval. It represents an open door to one of Europe’s most competitive online gambling landscapes.

Responsible Gambling & Play Safe

With the demand for innovative casino games in Sweden on the rise, operators can now offer BGaming’s range of slots and crash titles. BGaming's emphasis on personalised content and fair play could be the key to winning over Swedish players.
