CasinoWow’s highlights of LAC & ICE 2023 in London

CasinoWow and the insights we got from LAC & ICE 2023 in London. A detailed report on the week spent in London during the affiliate conferences.

This year our team had the chance to attend the leading iGaming conferences - LAC & ICE London 2023 again. CasinoWow’s presence at the exhibition gave us a chance to be insightful of this year’s events, and now we want to share with you our overview of the few days we spent in London.

As you know, last year’s ICE and LAC made special impressions on us, which leads us to today when we can compare those two conferences, as well as compare them to previous years (pre-Covid). What’s the difference, and how have the exhibitions changed? Let’s see!

LAC & ICE London 2023

We were glad we had the chance to see first-hand the growth the expos had over the years. While last year’s events were still like walking on edge due to post-Covid impacts, this year, we can definitely say LAC/ICE is returning to its previous glory.

At iGB Affiliate London, there were over 5,100 attendees, and half of them were either new to gaming or new to the exhibit.

2023’s conferences were busier, and happily, many more companies came back. We were happy to see again attending providers such as Novomatic, Playtech, Amusnet, Pragmatic Play and other favourite game creators. They all had lavish and big stands with impressive outputs.

Among the great provider exhibits were also Thunderkick, EGT, IGT, Betsoft, and Greentube.

The conference was also attended by many favourite payment providers, and we were happy to see AstroPay, ecoPayz, Trustly, Jeton, and more.

Nonetheless, if we’re being honest, we could sense the slow down pace in the industry, most probably due to the Covid breaks. There weren’t as many as expected innovations in the digital industry, and looking back to the last three years, we couldn’t recognise a significant change in the technology advancements regarding the gambling industry.

This could be a feeling brought on by the lack of innovative presentations from the exhibitors. They bet on basic, stable, and tested-in-time displays without extra or over-the-top productions.

Brands’ presence and insights

Maybe the best part of those few days of gathering in one place, a huge gambling hub, was the meetings we got to have with our old or new partners! We were glad to meet with our friends from Casumo Casino, Wolfpack Partners (Slot Wolf Casino) and BitStarz Casino, whom we happily work with.

We also met our new partners Casombie, BC.Game, Bitdreams, BetSofa, and BetVictor. Had a great time with all of them!

One thing that surprised us was the interesting approach some other brands had. Unfortunately, there are still many casino brands that are trying to operate in unregulated markets and are looking for traffic, which, as you know, is not something CasinoWow approves of! We advise all our players always to choose licensed casinos and play at safe casino sites regulated accordingly.

The good news

Ending with some happy thoughts, we want to send our congrats to Bettson Group. Last month Betsson celebrated 60 years in the gaming industry!

For their exceptional contributions to the industry over those years, they were recognised and received the prestigious ICE Landmark Award!

The award was accepted by Betsson AB’s CEO, Pontus Lindwall, and thanked Clarion Gaming for marking Betsson’s 60th anniversary in such a glorious and special way.

Congratulations to Betsson, and kudos to all of our friends that we had such a great time with at the LAC and ICE London 2023 conferences.
